biography Julia Flanagan's "Every Now and Then" (2015/2016) series are in depth acrylic meanderings and meditations on her daily life, travels and dreams. Her works explore dream-like states through gestural asymmetrical layered forms and patterns of colour and wash. Each work takes a unique form through a process of blocking and revealing, a process which the artist describes as imitating the digital. Flanagan graduated with honours from the National Art School in 2005, she has exhibited in Sydney at the Sheffer Gallery, NAS, Art Est. Gallery, and Newman Lane Gallery. Her work in textiles and leather are sold at Maitland regional gallery and seasonally at the MCA in Sydney.
